Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain Post A Lumbar Fracture

Thank you so much. I have a question regarding the amount of ESI that are safe. I fractured my L5 almost 4 years ago. I have a very hard time standing for more than 5 or 10 minutes. I ve been receiving steroid injections about every month or two for the past couple of years. It s always been my concern because I have been told that you should not have more than 3 per year. What do you think?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the severity of lower back pain usually indicate underlying spinal cord or contents compressed by the surrounding pathology usually stenosis or else. So far as guarded prognosis explained by consultant is a matter of evaluation with details of case study, history, physical findings and co relation with the supportive data of MRI and else. Though primary relief are medications, assisted physiotherapy and epidural analgesia with expert pain specialist, I would request you to send all details of reports available with you in follow up session.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
