Hello there,I have had a severe neck pain for over a year now that has steadily worsened. I am 22 years old, male, and weigh approx 13 stone [BMI 24.7]. The pain began as an ache at the base of the neck where my shoulders meet. Over the last 12 months it has developed into a sharp pain around my neck and shoulder area. On most days the pain is so severe that I wake through the night despite taking regular painkillers. I have tried paracetamol, ibroprufen, asprin, codeine, and have also tried other medication such as ibroprufen gel, "Deep Heat" packs and sprays. Nothing seems to help the pain. Because I am so young I am concerned that my GP will not take my complaint seriously but it is getting to the point where it is badly affecting my day-to-day life. What do you think it could be and what is my best course of action?Thankyou.
