Hello,

Individuals who are under a lot of psychological stress may experience headaches and this is the most likely cause in your case too.

Unfortunately, you haven't provided many details about it, so I can't give a very specific answer.

A serious headache is heralded by any (or many) of the following red flag characteristics:

- awakes the patient
- causes neurological symptoms like unilateral weakness or sensory deficits
- is more common in the morning before getting out of bed and gets better thereafter
- may follow a head injury
- occurs abruptly and severe (like a blow on the head; "a thunderclap headache")
- occurs after the age of 50
- differs from previous headaches somehow in a patient who's having frequent headaches.

Any of the above features is a good reason for further investigation. On the other hand investigating a chronic headache without red flags is futile.

Doing some basic tests like a complete blood count, urea, creatinine, electrolytes, vitamin D, ESR, etc is recommended.

If Advil helps then you can use it provided that the headaches do not occur every day.

Otherwise another painkiller will have to be used. Advil and the like are good for short-term management of pain but in the long-term, they may cause side effects.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
