What Is The Treatment For Severe Headaches?

I am experiencing severe headaches. i went to my primary doctor and he said that they are tension headaches caused by stress and that ibuprofen 800 mlg could help. I have never taken drugs for a long period of time so I dont want to do that everyday. The pain is now consistant and it gets worst as the day goes by. I am now experiencing pain on the back of my neck also. I now wake up with the pain and I refuse to have to take pain killlers everyday. I am not always stress. I am a happy person, healthey who excercises three times a week.

Hello dear,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have made the following clinical explanation-
You classically appear to have anxiety along with Tension type headache(TTH).Anxiety can frequently accompany TTH.In TTH,headache is usually most prominent at the back of the head,in the form of a heaviness. It is also associated with neck pain. So,the symptoms you are having are very much the same. You don't need to take medicines for a long period of time or regularly. There is one efficient way out here. Please do regular mental relaxation exercises/Yoga/Pranayama.I hope these symptoms will improve.Hope it helps.
