Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Went to gastroenterologist yesterday for severe acid reflux during the last six weeks. He scheduled me for endoscopy in four days, thinking it may be a structural issue with my sphincter. He also prescribed prilosec to take until then 2x per day for the acid reflux. I have not taken prilosec yet. If Ï don´t take it before endoscopy will this pose any sort of risk during procedure (i.e acid coming up, causing me to choke)?Am nervous about the endoscopy. Took some valium and then read it doesn´t mix with prilosec as it makes it more potent. Is this correct? Did not discuss drug side effects with doctor at the time as it did not occur to me. Thank you.
