I got a tattoo 2 days ago on my upper left arm, from my shoulder down to around my elbow. It is now red all around it and swollen, the back of my arm where my tricep would come down to meet my elbow and so on. I took a z-pack about a month ago, and then had to take a second round of avelox which i finished on monday, the day before my tattoo. I have couldnt see my doctor today but he called in another antibiotic sulfameth/trimethoprim. I showed it to the pharmacist and he said it looked like cellulitis right off, but said there was no way to determine weather it was a reaction to the ink or weather it was a bacteria. I really want to avoid taking another round of antibiotic, so I took 50mg benadryl tonight to see if that would help. I plan on taking the antibiotic tomorrow, I can send pictures if that would help. I would really appreciate some help on this issue, I've never had this type of reaction to any of my other tattoos. I got it at a top proffesional tattoo studio by one of the top tattoo artist in my state.
