Suggest Treatment For Rashes Due To Itching On Penis And Lower Legs

I occasionally get rashes due to itching on lower legs, Tenovate-M with Allegra-120/180 has been a useful remedy, same treatment is prescribed when I smoetimes get penis swollen with redishness, skin specialist at RML repeated the same remedy! Is there a permanent cure?

Dear Praween,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post suggest that you might be having fungal infection (Tinea) in the region around penis and lower legs.

Management includes:
1. Keeping the area dry & avoid too much exposure to water or sweat formation.
2. Antihistamine preparations like cetirizine to reduce the itching sensation & provide symptomatic relief.
3. Application of topical antifungal cream like Clotrimazole to tackle the causative organism.

If symptoms still persist or aggravate further, then it will be better to consult a Dermatologist & get a proper examination done to find out the actual cause.
So that appropriate management steps could be taken.

Also avoid wearing tight undergarments & trousers...as it will cause sweating & predispose to fungal infections.
