Suggest Treatment For Pain In Tonsils And Swollen Lymph Nodes

Hi. My tonsils have been hurting for about a week. They don t look swollen, they re not particularly red or anything, but they re painful and uncomfortable. I have some slight pressure in my ears. Originally i thought it was related to allergies but it doesn t seem to be. I ve tried warm tea, cold water, mouth wash, vitamin C, but nothing seems to help. I have some swollen lymph nodes under my jaw on the right side, but no fever and not nauseous. Could someone help? I don t know what else to do. I m not sure if it matters, but i have UC and am on an immuno-suppresant medication, but i ve been on it for over a year and not had any problems. Ideas? Thank you.

Hi..
Welcome to HCM
This could be tonsilar infection..the nodes you are seeing near the jaw are lymph nodes which drain your tonsil...usually seen when there is throat ..tonsil infection and coming to pain the ear because of tonsillitis again because of shared nerve supply ..we call it as referred pain...nothing to worry about it... I recommend tablet amoxicillin with clavulinic acid combination 625 mg two times a day after food for 5 days...and tab paracetamol 500 mg for pain relief...you should alright...wish you a speedy recovery...
Happy to help..
