Hi,
I've gone through your query and I understand quite well your concern
Based on your irregular periods and your age, I'm quite sure that you are experiencing perimenopause. This refers to the time before menopause when hormone levels, particularly estrogen, begin fluctuating. Perimenopause occurs, on average, about four years before actual menopause. Perimenopause also involves wildly fluctuating hormone levels and months in which you may not ovulate. This, in turn, can lead to a thicker uterine lining, which has to be shed at some point resulting in heavy bleeding.
These changes in cycle may lead to heavier flow in the early perimenopause, followed by a lighter flow and occasional spotting in the later perimenopause until this flow stop definitely correlating to menopause.

So, I suggest You:
1. First : Be careful because heavy bleeding can lead to iron-deficient anemia, the most common health-related threat of heavy bleeding. (ask your gynaecologist to prescribe iron supplements)
2.See your gynaecologist because persistent irregular bleeding can ask for a further evaluation by him. Bleeding longer than 7 days each period, bleeding more often than every 21 days and skipping more than three cycles should be evaluated.
So, it's important for you to consult with your doctor in order to be sure definitely that you are experiencing perimenopause and thi heavy bleeding is not related to other causes such as uterine cancer, fibroids, endometriosis etc
3. Once a firm diagnosis is reached your doctor can also precribe you hormone contraceptives, hormone releasing IUD etc. in order to stop this heavy bleeding.

Hope this information is useful to you
