General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Gynecomastia refers to abnormal breast development in males. This condition occurs due to reduced testosterone or increased estrogen level in males. The cause for such altered hormonal levels such as newer medications, steroid use, liver dysfunction should be ruled out. A direct clinical examination is required to see if medical or surgical intervention is required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
