Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Praveen G's Response
Hello, Welcome to HCM,
Glandular fever is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), one of the most common viruses to affect humans. Glandular fever spread through saliva. It can be spread through kissing so it is often referred to as the kissing disease.
Th treatment includes
1.Get plenty of rest during the early stages when your symptoms are most severe. 2.Drink enough fluids. 3.If you need pain relief, you can take painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen. 4.Try gargling with soluble aspirin if you have a sore throat. Thank you.
