Hi

I am 35 years old.I have been diagnosed with Fissure with a Senitnel Tag. Surgeon has advised a surgery but I am not convinced. I was diagnosed with Fissure when I was around 16 years and the problem has resurfaced again around 3 months back. I have pain while defacating, walking, sitting and coughing. I was given Ciplox TZ and Emanzen with Sitz bath and Xylocaine.

Please advise if the surgery is envitable

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain Sentinal tag is a small skin tag that forms at the lower end of the fissure also known as Sentinal pile..
It is generally harmless but can get inflamed and cause severe pain and discomfort along with delays the healing of the fissure..
As you are already doing sitz bath along with xylocaone application and intake of Emazen (Diclofenac) and Antibiotic ciplox, you can also take stool softener like Docusate and laxative like Polyethylene Glycol along with topical application of steroid ointment that will reduce inflammation and discomfort..
You can also be advised to apply ointment containing Calcium channel blockers like Diltizem as it will improve blood flow in that area and help in healing soon..
Avoid spicy food and drink plenty of water..
In case if there is no improvement surgical treatment is the last resort..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
