Suggest Treatment For Fever, sore Throat And High BP

I have a medium fever over the past three days and my blood pressure and pulse rate are moderately elevated. The top of my throat is slightly swollen which makes swallowing uncomfortable. I am on multiple heart, diabetes ll, blood pressure and prostate medications. Unfortunately due to circumstances, I am unable to see my doctor. What should I be doing? I am taking Tylenol for the fever.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Night sweats might be due to simple causes like work out, hot shower or taking hot drinks before going to bed. Certain medical causes includes:
- Anxiety or stress
- Acid reflux disease
- Hyperhidrosis
- Medications: pain killers, steroids, antipsychotics
- Low testosterone levels
- Hormone disorders like hyperthyroidism etc.
- Infections, certain neurological conditions.
In the history you have mentioned loss of weight, so thyroid function test should be done to rule out hyperthyroidism. I advise you to hydrate yourself nicely. Take Coconut water, aloe vera, buttermilk etc.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
