My son is suffering from fever for the last 3-4 days. Have given him calpol but fever still persists. Continues cough during nights though it is reduced by miles. Doctors have informed that flum is the cause for this. Any medicine to remove flum? Please suggest.

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

Regarding your query for fever, cough and phlegm of your son for last 3 - 4 days. He had been given calpol but his problem is still there.

Most likely your son is having viral fever with respiratory tract infection. I would like to tell you that with concent of your treating doctor you may add following in his treatment-

1- Steam inhalation and warm saline gargling.

2- Anti histaminic and decongestant.

3- Antibiotic (preferably broad spectrum).

I hope above will be helpful for you.

Regards.
