i am experiencing fullness in my ears and the ENT did not note any fluid or infection in the ears on examination. He has identified eustacian tube dysfunction. He did prescribe a prednisone dosepak, Nasonex and straight Mucinex. He also gave me a prescription for Azithromycin and suggested that I take it if I am no better. To date, I have had no relief from the prednisone, nasonex or Mucinex. I did try Sudafed and Benadryl with no improvement.

All above diseases are well known for giving recurrent infection to nasopharynx so if any of above are there that should be treated first and than after eustachian tube will start doing functions well automatically.
Secondarly the causative agent for infection should be identifyed and antibiotic should be adviced according to culture and sensitivity report.
After taking care of all above one should proceed to treat eustachian tube dysfunction as-
1- Antibiotic (as per recmondation of culture report).
2- Mucolytic and decongestant.
3- Anti histaminic.
4- Steam inhalation.
5- Steroids.
Most of the cases are responding well by above treatment but unforunately if there is no satisfactory response than one should proceed for MYRINGOTOMY and GROMMET IMPLANTATION over ear drum.
I think above answers your query.
Regards.
