Suggest Treatment For Epilepsy

I am a concerned mother of a 34 year old male with epilepsy, he also has a learning disability which
makes him unable to report exactly what happens. Is it important for him to take his medication at the same
time everyday and withing 12 hours of each other? Because he has no concept of time I think he stays up
late at night, and then wants to sleep all day, sometimes without any food of drink for 20 hours. I am struggling
because his epilepsy nurse says eating and drinking are no triggers, however i feel they are and need some advice please.
