Suggest Treatment For Ear Pain

I scratched the inside of my ears using a qtip that must of had something on it. I went to emergency and received some antibotics and was told to use polysporin for ears. I did this for 4 days but my ears continued to swell and everytime I told the medication the pain was unbearable. I then saw my family doctor who prescribed another drop but this did not do any thing. After the third time to my family doctor, they referred me to a ENT. He checked my ears, my hearing, my throat as well as my nose - nothing other than a bit of a scab in the bottom of one ear. I was then sent for a CT and was told that everything is fine and I should purchase a mouth guard so that I stop grinding my teeth. I do not think that this is the issue as I do not think I grind my teeth. The pain comes and goes. I can not shake my head from side to side with out feeling dizzy and feeling some discomfort. Help
