Suggest Treatment For Dizziness And Stiff Neck

Hi I am suffering dizziness and stiff neck from pas 25 days. Doctors initially told its Vertigo and have prescribed betahistine and I did take the complete course and it did not help in any way. I had also went couple of times to the hospital emergency but they told my ECG & Blood test were normal. My physio therapist told it must be due to the stiff neck and I m doing all necessary exercises but no pain is relieved yet. My dizziness is still there. Pls help. I stay in Canada and I am 26years old female with a child

Hello,

As the dizziness can be due to some reasons like having vision issues, vertigo, neck degenerative disc disease, or nervous system issues as the blood test and ECG are normal, we need to look out for the possible causes without putting you on to some therapies. Having stiff neck can be due to either a muscle spasm or may be due to inter vertebral disc Degenerative changes in the Cervical spine. Am MRI is suggested. Post this we can understand the soft tissue pathology and then start with exercise. Usually, vertigo has a symptom of giddiness and due to disc Degenerative changes, it will be headache, dizziness, neck muscles stiffness etc. Based on the clinical diagnosis we can put you on exercise.

I will advise you to do hot water fermentation for the neck, and do MRI as and when you find the time. Post this do simple neck rotational exercises and see if the neck muscles are getting relaxed. Also, some simple neck static exercise along with shoulder stabilization exercises is advised. Do simple breathing exercises in between the exercises.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
