Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On Wednesday, my 23 year old son, returned from a 4-day trip to Buenos Aires. Friday, he started feeling ill. He has been experiencing diarrhea. Today, he drank red Gatorade and his stool was quite red and loose. Could the Gatorade caused the redness?
HI Well come to HCM Thank for asking to HCM your health concern will be appreciated, yes of course the color of stool could be due to the drink he has taken and it may not be due to any thing wrong with intestine, I would like to say that if the condition remains as it is even after couple of days then stool needs to be sent for lab test, else the red color of stool is due to Gatorade even if it is the history of diarrhea he has, hope this information helps.
