With such presentations in my clinic, I would first rule out your present illness first. Now you have PCOS which has already been diagnosed by your local doctor. It is a common feature of period disturbance in PCOS so I may suggest regulating your period by taking a hormonal pill like progesterone for first 10 days of your period and repeat for 3 cycles. Besides it you need certain lifestyle changes which I recommend to my patients like this: a) Try to maintain a good weight and if obese try to reduce at least 5% b) Take a low carbohydrate diet and tell your nutritional expert to make a chat for it. c) Make plan for exercise regularly in the morning and evening.
Hope that will help. Please let me know if you have further questions before meeting your primary care doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
