Hi, you can use enema to relieve constipation which is caused as a side effect of drugs.Principle of enema is to irritate the rectal mucosa which causes defecation. However initially enema should be used after which you should try to shift on laxatives like polyethylene glycol or lactulose. However if they are not effective enema can be used as and when required. You can ask you gastroenterologist to prescribe you Polyethelene Glycol.Polyethylene glycol-electrolyte solution is used to empty the colon. PEG-ES is in a class of medications called osmotic laxatives. It works by causing watery diarrhea so that -the stool can be emptied from the colon. Dont eat heavy food. Start taking a probiotic daily. Dont take dairy products. Eat a lot of salads and veggies. Use laxative lactulose sos. Take a over counter probiotic daily.
