Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctors, After a long drive of about 1000 miles in 3 days (being a lone driver) it seems I ve acquired coccyx pain. The pain is not that worse but still it can be sharp after sitting for about an hour or so... currently I m undergoing physical therapy where the therapist is using manual methods like internal coccyx stimulation and situation has improved from where it used to be before, however I still do not get 100% relief, I ve been visiting her for about a month now... Since it was better than before, should I continue this procedure for a few more weeks? Or should I ask for injection or surgery? Please advice.
Welcome to HCM. Continue physiotherapy. You have to start nsaid with muscle relaxant for 10 to 15 days. Intramuscular injections of nsaid is advisable for 3 to 5 days. Apply nsaid gel locally. B12,folic acid,d3,calcium,minerals will be helpful. It is better to consult orthopedician with x-ray of that region.
