Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have been Diagnosed with Chrondomylacia in the knees, I currently receive orthovisc inj. Is there any other alternative for the pain? The injections don t usually last but a few months at a time. Will this type of condition get worst and required surgery as I age.
Usually conservative management is enough to treat chondromalacia patelle. Take physiotherapy, proper supplements, hot fomentation. Apply Diclofenac gel, use knee cap, take anti-inflammatory drugs.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopedic Surgeon
