Suggest Treatment For Callus On Kids Big Toe

Dear Dr.
My almost 3 year old neice has always walked on her toes.! I am concerened because now I have noticed a callus on her big toes along side peeling skin. also she complains about her right toes hurts when i touch it. I have mentioned it to her pediatrician, he says she will outgrow it. but it doesnt seem like its getting better. she can walk flat footed, but she does not stay like that. help

Hi

Since your kid has developed a callus on toe, firstly it is very important to prevent any further trauma or friction to the area since this will increase the lesion even further.
You should make sure he wears proper canvas or cloth based shoes.
As far as the treatment options in children are concerned, it can involve gentle scrubbing the area with a pumice stone after dipping in warm water. You can try this if your kid allows.
