Suggest Treatment For Body Rash While Recovering From Herpeangina

I m recovering from herpeangina and my body is still covered in a raised rash. I received 125mg of solumedrol IV on Sunday and have been taking the prescribed steroid pack since then. I m on day 3. Since I still have so much rash does it mean the virus is still active in my body? The mouth sores are finally feeling better today. YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a viral rash. I recommend using an antihistamine such as Benadryl. I also suggest using a steroid cream for local application. Cool showers can also be helpful.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
