His symptoms are caused by lumbar arthritis. Arthritis causes pain and numbness.
To determine the diagnosis the following tests are necessary:
1. Lumbar X-ray.
2. Fibrinogen test.
3. Complete blood count.
4. Urine test.
To treat arthritis your husband can take anti inflammatory non steroidal medicines such as Meloxicam.
