Suggest Treatment For Anal Fissure

Hello,

I am a 20 year old male who just recently noticed that just right below my anus there is a hole. It it can only be seen when the buttocks is stretched. Other than that it seems normal. There is no bleeding and it is not painful at all. I did have a slight bleeding from an anal fissure and being the self-cautious person that I am, I examined myself and saw the fissure. Apparently it has healed and there seems to be no pain. However while examining myself I noticed the hole or dimple, very shallow, not deep at a all, and since then I have been very annoyed. Can you help me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Anal fissure treatment consists of surgery.

Some advice that can help is:
- Using over-the-counter stool softeners.
- Drinking more fluids.
- Taking fiber supplements and eating more fibrous foods, such as raw fruits and vegetables.
- Taking warm baths called sitz baths to relax the anal muscles, relieve irritation, and increase blood flow to the anorectal area.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
