Suggest Treatment For Anal Fissure

Hello Doctor,I am a 24 yrs girl and since from 2 months suffering from anal fissure. Few days before my doctor suggested me surgery but as a second opinion I consulted another doctor and suggested me not to do surgery to avoid future problems. So will you plz guide me as what to do now?

Hi,

I think its always best to try a few things before going to surgery, which may be needed if conservative management fails.

So I would suggest you should try medicine first. you can use topical nitrates cream locally 2 to 3 times a day, besides using some lignocaine cream for pain relief.

But the most important part is to avoid constipation, by taking more fluid, more fibres ( veg and fruits ), and espheghula husk. Use all these measures for a month, if the thing gets well if not surgery can be done.
