Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doctor,i am on cipralex medication since two months. My doze is 10mg / Day.My sugar level two hours after taking any mean goes maximum to 180. And sometimes after 4 hours it goes to above 70 or above 80. Can you tell me that is it hypoglycemia or it is side effect of Cipralex or it could be the acute anxiety symptom.I have been diagnosed with acute anxiety since 2 months and taking the medication to treat it.
hi..thanks for writing..i have understood your concerns..
the sugar level after 2 hrs of meal 180 that just above the normal level..if you are taking any antidiabetic drugs then visit your prescribing doctor and get proper dose adjustment..i dont know whether you are taking any drugs for diabetes or not?
the level of 70 or 80 after 4 hours is normal..hypoglycemia is called when it is below 55. hypoglycemic attacks do not occur at this level..
you do not have mentioned your symptoms. probably it can be your anxiety attack.
in my opinion you shud visit your psychiatrist and talk about the attacks and go for blood sugar monitoring and HB1AC blood investigation..
cipralex is SSRI antidepressant which can be given for the treatment of anxiety..
i hope this will be beneficial to you..best of luck..
