Pediatrician 's  Response
Irrespective of the location of the infection, in case of first diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB), a treatment with Isoniazid, Pyridoxine, Rifampicin needs to be given for 6 months. Rifa-I6 Kid contains this combination and may be given. It is expected the that the infection would be controlled within the tenure of 6 months of treatment but may occasionally take some more time when another 3 months of treatment might be required with appropriate medicines. With proper treatment, TB is fully curable. Please visit any Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) centre and the doctors there can treat it effectively.
