Hi I have been diagnosed with a L4/5 disc bulge with possible nerve root impingement. My gp has recommended physio , anti inflamatories. What are your thoughts on remedial massage? And what if my pain down my left leg doesn t subside. What other treatment modalites would get me better?

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hello,

Your GP has guided you right, medication and Physiotherapy will help you reduce pain and regain strength. avoid massage as it will make muscle weaker.

In my clinical practice of 12 years, cases with disc prolapse or bulge have responded well with medicine and exercise.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
