Suggest Therapy For Arthritis

Dear madam/sir:

I would like to learn more about hip surgeries for old people(65). And how successful are they? Also wondering when is the best time to have these kind of surgeries?(with medications like Mapthera or not). Do you need my adress or could it be possible to provide some information about that by replying my mail?

My mother has been suffering from romatoid arthritis and she was on medication Remicade for a couple of years and two months ago her doctor changed this medication and started using Mapthera. She will be having her next shot in June 2010 and in the mean time her doctor is considering a hip surgery(replacement) in a month or so before her Mapthera shot. She has swollen joints, pain and difficulty in movement. She also has extreme pains from time to time. Can physical therapy effect in a good way? Does she have to have this surgery? What are the possible complications of this surgery? How can I help her?

I am looking forward to hearing from you. And I will appriciate if you can reply me immediately.

Thanks

hello,
it seems like her hips are damaged due to arthritis, you she should definitely benifit from surgery.
drugs like remicade and mabthera will give her relief from her arthritis, however, if her joints have been damaged then only surgery acn repair that problem
