Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I'm durrently suffering with vomiting and have been for approx 38 hours. I have eaten the same foodstuffs as my family and they are all fighting fit. There is no diarrhea, but other symptoms include high temperature, aching muscles and joints and dizziness. I am due to be working this evening Preparing food and although I am clearly unable to work tonight when can I expect the symptoms to stop and when is it safe to return to working with food.
Your symptoms seem to be related to food poisoning.
Some advice that I can give to you is: - Avoid food for the first few hours as your stomach settles down. - Drink water, broth, or an electrolyte solution, which will replace the minerals that you lose with vomiting. - Eat when you feel ready but start with small amounts of bland non-fatty foods such as toast, rice, and crackers. - Get plenty of rest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
