Suggest Remedy For Nausea In Head Due To Intake Of Vicodin

I get nausea from taking my pain medication (Vicodin), but the nausea feels like it's coming from my head, not my stomach. I've taken some meclizine (over the counter) but it hasn't helped. I also tried ginger ale, ginger tea, laying down. What should I do?

Hello,
My first thought is to recommend you switch to a different pain medication. You want to rule out any type of allergic reaction. Many medications can upset your stomach and must be taken as directed. You then want to take the lowest effective dose possible. Have you ruled out an interaction with any other medications you may be taking? Are you eating a regular diet? Any other medical complications ? I suggest that you discuss this with your doctor.
