Suggest Remedy For Coughing With Green Mucous

For two weeks I have been coughing up thick green mucous that chokes me and causes me to get SOB. Now along with that, one side of my throat hurts severely and my tonsil on that side feels raw and is swollen. I have not been running a fever, but also do not feel like I am getting any better.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,looking at your symptoms, you might be suffering from Upper respiratory tract infection.
If i were your treating doctor,I would treat your problem with Antibiotics(like levofloxacin),Analgesic(like Ibuprofen),Antacid(like Rantac),Anti-histaminic (like Cetrizine),And a Cough Expectorant (containing Ambroxol/Guaifenesin/Salbutamol).

You should also do Steam inhalation.Warm saline gargles.Avoid cold/spicy/oily food.Drink more Fluids.

If still your symptoms are not improving,it would be advisable to consult an ENT Specialist .He would do your throat examination and might advise a Chest Xray to reach Diagnosis.

Hope this answers your question.Take care.
