Suggest Remedies For Trouble In Passing Bowels After An Anesthesia

My roomate had outpatient bladder biopsy yesterday. They put her under (anasthesia)...This morning she is in excruciating pain, says she can't pass anything. "Needs to poop but can't...She isn't puking and her abdomen isn;t swollen. Besides taking her back to the hospital is there anything else we can do. She is in very bad pain, but unless she is dying I know the emergency room is just gonna make her sit and wait...Can you help me please.....
