Suggest Remedies For Swollen Tonsils And Smelly Phlegm

About 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with an ear infection, sinus infection and bronchitis. I took a 10 day course of antibiotics (Amoxicillin) and felt better. Last Monday I developed a sore throat which got progressively worse. I had a fever, body aches, chills and ear pain. I went to the clinic on Wednesday and was diagnosed with tonsillitis. I m on another 7 day course of Amoxicillin. My tonsils (what remains after having them removed years ago) are very swollen which makes it painful to swallow / talk. I m coughing up foul smelling phlegm which has started to be tinged pink with blood. In the last few hours the blood has turned bright red. What should I do?

Hello,

That it is important consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam, a chest X ray and a complete blood count.

Tests for Tuberculosis and Covid should be done, considering your description of the symptoms. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka
