Suggest Progressive Means To Stop Usage Of Levlin Pill

I have been on the pill for 10 years now, the most recent pill has been Levlin which I ve been on for 6 of those years and I ve never had any trouble with any pill of been on. I m now wanting to come off the pill, not to fall pregnant but to give my body a break from it. Is there anything I can do to make the process a bit easier on my body rather than just stopping all together? Thanks Sam

Hi,
I have read your query,& understand your concern.
It's good that you have thought of giving break in pills.
At the same time, you want to avoid conception.
You are also correct in thinking ,not to stop the pills all of a sudden.
Safest way to stop the pill is after getting your normal bleeding, don't start with new pack of pill. Also start using another contraceptive like-
- IUD get it inserted within 5 days of periods,
- use of condom during sex- be sure it's intact after the act.
- complete abstinence for one month or avoiding/ protecting sex at ovulation ( to be estimated by LH surge test)
