Suggest Medications For Acid Reflux In Diabetic Patients

I am a 56 yr old male 5 11 & 175lbs. I am a Type 2 diabetic, having had diabetes for 6 years. My last A1C was 5.9, and generally been under 6. I also have acid reflix, for which I take Nexium once a day. For the past 6 months I have been prescribed 1000mg of metformin 2x a day plus 5mg of onglyza, once day. Prioir to this, I had been on 500mg of metformin twic a day along with Actos (I do not recall the dosage). I had been on the 500mg of metformin since I had diabetes, but was on Actos for less then 2 years. When reports came out that Actos cold cause bladder cancer, my ent took me off it, put me on Onglyza, and upped the dosage of metformin. In my last visit to m ent 6 mos ago, she felt my neck and said she felt something and sent me to have an ultrascan of my thyroid. I did not get the scan until a month ago, and the results say I have 3 non-specific nodules, 2 about 1/2 cm, and 1 over 1 cm (about .13mm). I am scheduled to see my ent in 2 weeks. I had been feeling well, until about a week ago. I have become extremely sensitive to the cold, while even indoors.(I do live in a cold climate, but generally can handle the cold) I took my temperature the last few days in the AM and it had been 96.3, 96.5, then 97.3. Later in the day it would be close to normal. I also have had headaches, body aches, fatigue, and generally feeling lousy. I ve also noticed that my eyebrows have thinned significantly, though not sure when this started. I had noticed the hair on my head getting thinner over the last number of months , but hadn t related it to my thyroid until now, as I had been feeling fine until this last week. Do I have hypothyroidism, and would all these other symptoms, such as feeling cold, come on suddenly. My ent does not want to move up my appointment despite my nodules and how I feel. Have these nodules caused hypothyroidism? Could the increase in dosage of metformin cause a lowering of thyroid hormone I produce and contribute feeling this way. When I inhale through my nose, I also have a funny smell, that I never had before. This coincided with these other recent symptoms, such as cold sensitivity. Is it dangerous if what I have goes untreated? Should I just wait to see my ent, or are there any circumstances that I should go to the ER if I continue to feel this way?
