Hi,

Persistent sickness for how many days? Unlikely for a 16-year-old to get viral illness to cause that amount of sickness. Please go for blood investigations for her with total counts, CRP, ESR blood culture, platelets, SGOT, SGPT and urine routine. Consult a GP for further treatment. Most likely, depending on symptoms, it is enteric fever. It can get treated with Cefixime or Azithromycin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prasanna Lakshmi, Pediatrician
