Suggest Dosage And Health Risk Of Cytotec
Hello Doctor. I really hope you can answer my question as it will ease my partners mind. She is just over three months pregnant and wishes to take Cytotec to induce abortion. We wish to know the risks involved for her, the health risks for her, the future ramifications for her body, the dosage recommended. Any information you can provide or clear references on this subject will help greatly. Understand your concern
Cytotec should be used under observation of gynecologist as your pregnancy is advanced. Pre abortion USG is require to confirm intrauterine pregnancy. Cytotect 400 ug should be used every 4-6 hourly (maximum 2400 ug) under observation. If medicine failed surgical process is needed to complete abortion. It cause side effects like bleeding (just more than period with blood clots), abdominal cramp, headache, tiredness last for 4-6 days.
Complication like excessive bleeding, incomplete abortion and abnormal development of pregnancy in failure if used without guidance. It does not affects future pregnancy with single use. Post abortion USG should be done after 14 days. So no risk if you used under guidance of gynecologist
