Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
3 days back I recovered from Dangue. I complained for feeling of bloatinesss after food. The doctor asked to do a liver function test. My SGPT count is 309 and SGOT is 255. Also GGT is 83. I dont understand what wrong with me. Should I do ultra sound?
For stomach bloating excess stress, smoking, eating too fast, excess carbonates drinks, celiac disease etcetera are some of the causes. But as liver enzymes elevated further workup needed in form of ultrasound abdomen, total bilirubin estimation, serum protein estimation, viral marker etcetera. If specific cause found than treated accordingly.
Maintain hydration with lots of water. Sometimes if no cause found than temporary viral infection can lead to elevated liver enzymes but before that other cause needs to be ruled out.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
