Hi welcome to HCM

I have gone through your qery regarding platelets -- high or low .

A normal platelet count ranges from 150,000 to 350,000. If the number of platelets is too low, excessive bleeding can occur. The medical name for a low platelet is throbocytopenia . high number can cause blood cotting .Diet plays great roll in managing platelet count .

Diet changes help people lose weight, control diabetes, protect against cancer, and prevent heart disease.
Food is our basic fuel and the building block for healthy cells and organs.
, and help platelet count and bleeding symptoms .
Meanwhike , I suggest you If you eat a well-balanced diet . You should get enough of the nutrients you need every day, but if you're not getting enough of nutritious diet you are inviting diseases , you may need to complement your diet by multivitamins and supplements full of antioxudents.
Gulping on only medicines will not help gain health ,unless you take care ofyour life style and balance in diet .

You can follow the below regimen for greater success

Diet should include all essential nutrients - Macrobiotic diet whole grains, beans main diet of fibers ,fruit, veges in raw form vitamins & minerals in natural form , almonds ,nuts , all antioxidants- raw ginger, garlic , papaya lemon juice with water , bitter gourd juice 20-25 ml Aloe vera juice 25 ml + Amla juice 2 spoons , fenu greek powder 1 spoon with water ,turmeric powder a level spoon with cup of hot milk at bed time ,
Apples, potato skins and bitter gourd. The most common home remedy is to drink the bitter extract of papaya leave with honey, papaya .Avoid fried , salty, fast, fatty foods ,tea ,coffee ,alcohol ,smoking ,mental stress ,worry anxiety and most important is to clear you bowls . as constipation is mother of all ills .
Last but not the least for proper blood crculation , regular walk , exercise , yoga pranayam-deep breathing proper rest & sound sleep , helps in detoxifying and strengthening the immune system to enhance resistance from diseases and pave way for healthy , happy ,disease free life .

It’s important to check with your physician before adding herbs to your existing medications, the herbs that are antioxidant ,have no side effects and go with any therapy of treatment .

Hi, I M Dr. Kumarbhargav
Consultant Pathologist,
I understood your query,
It seems you have low platelets chronically,
Now i want you to know few facts about platelets, these are the cells that takes part in blood clotting and prevent bleeding by formation of platelet plug while injury to the vascular wall.

Normal platelet count for adult is 1,40,000/cumm to 4,00,000/cumm.
Reduced platelet count will lead to bleeding episodes especially decreased value to less than 10,000/cumm.
Person needs to be administered platelet transfusion when bleeding with low platelet count or critically low platelet count like less than 5,000/cumm as per latest guidelines. But one needs to be watchfull once platelet count falls below 50,000/cumm.
In cases of thrombocytopenia like yours one needs to find out underlying cause that is causing the low count like many i m enumerating few like,
- Infections especially viral (dengue), malaria and others
- Hemolytic anemia like with (autoimmune hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenic purpura, hemolytic uremic syndrome etc.
- Idiopathic (Isoimmune) thrombocytopenia (ITP)
- pernicious anemia
and many more
So if i would be your treating doctor i would have searched for underlying cause by having your peripheral blood smear examined, will look for any clue suggesting infection, hemolysis.
After exclusion of all cases ITP could be diagnosed which occurs without any significant history, which needs to be confirmed after bone marrow examination but of course it is diagnosis of exclusion.
So I advise you to try find cause.
Follow up with findings of reports. Ask for more details if you want.
And of course be watchful and alert to notice bleeding episodes if any.
Thanks for contacting health care magic.
Take care
