Suggest OTC Medication For Severe Itching In Ears Followed By Severe Pain

I have always had itching problems in my ears. Sometimes i scratch so much that my ear begins to hurt. Following this the next day there is a pain in my ear that's unbearable. I take a look in my ear to see what's wrong and it appears to be bumps or pimples near my ear canal hole. what can i do to make the pain go away and how long would this take? Are there over the counter antibiotics i can take from CVS ?

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding severe itching in ear followed by pain. Your these symptoms favours that you are suffering from acute otitis externa. There may be -

1- Furunculsis.

2- Otomycosis.

3- Wax in ear with sec infection.

You are advice to clean your ear gently by a cotton swab and than take -

a- Tab Paracetamol.

b- Ear drop having Antibiotic + Antifungal + Analgesic + Steroid.

Probably you will get relief by above medication otherwise consultation with your E.N.T.specialist.
