Suffering From Cough, Throwing Up Dark Red Blood And Mucus. History Of PE Survivor. Cause For Blood?

my husband is a two-time PE survivor and has been seen by Hematologists at Mayo in Rochester in last week. he continues to be symptomatic and coughing up dark red blood , mucus and tongue is black. he is taking lovenox and transitioning to xalerto. where is the blood coming from and is there more going on than clots in his lungs? cant get any definitive answers from anyone it seems.

Urgent CT-scan/MRI should be done in ER to assess site ,source ob bleeding from pulmonic vessels or alveolar vascular and suitable stopping measures instituted
