Suffering From Atopic Eczema, Grey Hair. Taking Treatment. Cause Of Grey Hair?

Hi There
I am a 24 year old girl. I have atopic eczema all over my body including my scalp, and i have had it since i was about 16. It has only gotten extremely severe in the last 6 months since i emigrated from a very humid climate in South Africa to thiis very dry cold climate in Dublin, Ireland. My condition is being treated now and is going away, but i have found some grey hair recently. Is this because of the eczema or is it just stress?

Hi,
Wecome to HCM.
Atopic eczema or atopic dermatitis is achronic relapsing skin disease. The skin in atopic person is dry.. Dry weather exacerbate the disease. As you said , your condition is worsoned due to dry weather.
Take steroid in tappering dose. Take anti histaminic till itch is relieved. If ther is secondary infection, take anibiotics for short period.
Apply mild steroid with antibiotic cream on affected area thrice aday.
Apply moisturising cream aftr bath on whole body.
Apply steroid lotion on scalp twice aday.
Take bath in dettol water. Avoid soap.
Cleanse the scalp with antiseptic liquid, like savlon.
Avoid contact with wool, housedustmite and pollens..
Avoid stress. Have good sleep. Avoid spicy and fermented food. Avoid cows milk and its products.
Greying of hairs may be due to stress. Still, rule out anaemia , thyroid dysfunctions, vitamin deficiencies.. etc.
I hope you will improve and relapses may be reduced..
