Suffering From ASO, Inflammation In Left Foot, Pain While Walking, No Relief With Medication, Smoke Frequently. Remedy?
Dear SIR,
I am S P Nayak from INDIA, My query is am suffering from ASO which is 699 as of now, My left foot is having a slight inflammation and pain while i walk, I have taken medications but no cure uptill now.I am also having tonsilities. I smoke frequently Is the smoking a vital cause for infecting my Inflammatory Glands and suggest me the remedy to reduce ASO.
Hi, welcome to HCM. ASO is antistreptolysin O which is detected in bacterial infection caused by streptococci. Titres more than 200 are considered significant. These bacteria are easily killed by antibiotics like penicillin, erythromicin. If you are allergic to penicillin, then cephalosporins can be used. I suggest you get in touch with your treating doctor for a prescription of antibiotics mentioned above. Smoking has no relation with the infection you are having but it has other effects which could lead to decreased immunity. I suggest you quit smoking as soon as possible. I also suggest monitoring of ASO levels to check response to therapy.
Thanks.
