Strange Dreams At Night, Cats Out Of The Corners Of The Eyes. On Medication. History Of Congenital Heart Failure. Onset Of Alzheimer's?

My 94 year old mother -in -law has been saying for a while on at least two occasions she has seen cat s out of the corners of her eyes.. This occurance last a few minutes. She also has stated that when she sleeps at night she has bugub to have very strange dreams at night. Her healt over-all is good. She was diagnosed with congenital heart failure two years ago, was put on medicine, but choose to quite taking it the meds due to the way it made her feel. She has read that the symptom of the cat s out of the corners of her eyes , is a symptom of the onset of Alzheimer???

Thank you for posting the query.
These symptoms (seeing cats out of the corners of eyes) are not specific for Alzheimer's disease.

These are called as "visual hallucinations" and can occur with a variety of conditions. These include the side effect of medicines, psychiatric illness and early stage of dementia.

The most common presentation in Alzheimer's disease is loss of memory. So, as long as she has fairly good memory, there is no need to worry about Alzheimer's disease.
