Stomach Pain During Periods. Do Not Want Painkillers. Suggest Medicine
Hi Doc, i m 25 yrs old female and i have stomach pain during my period. I went through online and saw so many side effect for use of pain killer so i m afraid , can you plz suggest me some medic for my stomach pain during my period which has less side effect and can make it my regular medic for my stomach pain or cramps during my period. I have heard even meftalmic acid ( meftal spas ) can help . Thanks

Welcome to HCM
You have Dysmenorrhea which is usually seen in your age group,if it tolerable and you can use simple analgesics in consultation with Gynecologist.If NSAID is not tolerated a Cox 2 inhibitor may be given.
If it is primary type but you should get examined once and evaluate with a Pelvic ultrasonography there are few secondary causes like Endometriosis,any cyst,muscle tumor.
If every thing is fine supportive measures like normal work during periods and local hot fomentaton,accupressure therapy helps .
With advise of your Gynecologist may give hormone therapy some cases, even IUCD devices with hormones helps to relive pain and sufferings.
