Stomach Pain. On Motrin. Why Does He Have Fever Too?

Hi, my son will be 4 in a couple of days. He has had a fever for 2 days (stays around 103). he went to the doc yesterday & was diagnosed with gen l. infection with a slight red ear & swollen tonsils. He was prescribed azithromycin and had his second dose this morning. He has also been complaining of stomach pain. I gave him Motrin an hour ago and his temp is still 103. His doc is out to lunch. Should I go to ER?

Hi
Thanks for your query.
Pain in stomach could be due to antibiotic as well.
I suggest you to do tepid sponging. And give mefenemic acid as per dosage 4 to 6 mg/kg.
Give plenty of fluids.
In case fever persist get him examined again.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
